
Saudi Arabia, Austria Explore Industrial Innovation and Training Collaboration
Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development Dr. Abdullah Alahmari, on a visit to Vienna, Austria, engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering collaboration in key industrial areas.
Alahmari met with Director General of Economic Affairs, Innovation, and International Policy at Austria's Federal Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism Florian Frauscher, with whom he discussed strengthening cooperation in industrial innovation, advanced manufacturing techniques, and the development of human capital to effectively navigate the latest technological advancements.
Alahmari toured the headquarters of Siemens, where he gained insights into Siemens' apprenticeship program and its wide array of training and qualification initiatives within the technology and industrial sectors.
In a meeting with Siemens executives, Alahmari explored potential avenues for collaboration to implement similar training models within the Kingdom. Discussions highlighted promising industrial sectors such as automotive, shipbuilding, and medical devices. They addressed the potential of these programs to facilitate the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution applications within smart industrial cities.
Alahmari also visited the University of Technology in Vienna, where he learned about cutting-edge developments in advanced manufacturing technologies at the university's Pilotfabrik Industrie 4.0 center.
