ZATCA Urges Excise Taxpayers to Submit January, February Returns by March 31
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) called on establishments subject to excise tax to submit their tax returns for January and February 2026 on or before March 31.
ZATCA urged taxpayers to promptly file their returns through its website (zatca.gov.sa) to avoid penalties for late submission, which range from no less than 5% and up to 25% of the tax due. It also warned of a late payment penalty of 5% of the unpaid tax for each month or part thereof.
ZATCA invited business sector establishments seeking further information about excise tax to contact it via the unified call center number (19993), available 24/7, or through the “Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs” account (@Zatca_Care) on X, email (info@zatca.gov.sa), or live chat via its website.
Excise tax is one of the tax systems in force in the Kingdom, imposed on goods with negative effects on public health or the environment at varying rates, including energy drinks, sweetened beverages, and tobacco and its derivatives.
