Under the patronage of Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Commission Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the third edition of the Saudi Film Confex will launch tomorrow in Riyadh and will run from October 22 to 25.
The Saudi Film Confex, organized by the Film Commission, serves as a major platform that brings together filmmakers, investors, and industry experts from the Kingdom and around the world. It aims to foster inclusive dialogue on the future of Saudi cinema, explore opportunities for collaboration, and highlight pioneering international experiences to strengthen the Kingdom’s presence in the global film industry.
This year’s edition features a comprehensive and diverse program of discussions focused on investment and financing in the film sector, as well as the concerted efforts of various Saudi entities to empower and grow the industry. It will also cover topics such as intellectual property, archiving, cultural identity preservation, and visual memory.
In addition, it will highlight regional and international partnerships and examine the role of artificial intelligence and its applications in film production and related fields.
The program will further spotlight the non-profit sector’s contribution to supporting film initiatives, talent development, and academic programs at universities. It will also celebrate Saudi screen creators and their achievements while reviewing cooperation with international film organizations and the latest developments in film distribution.
Accompanying activities will offer a vibrant and engaging experience for visitors of all ages, including amateurs, professionals, and children. Through a variety of artistic, cultural, and educational events, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the beauty of cinema from multiple perspectives and engage in experiences that encourage learning, discovery, and creativity.
