KSrelief Showcases Saudi Arabia’s Humanitarian Efforts for Conjoined Twins in New York

On the occasion of World Conjoined Twins Day, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) organized an exhibition in New York City to highlight the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian contributions through the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme.
The exhibition was attended by Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, and UNICEF Deputy Executive Director for Humanitarian Action and Supply Operations Ted Chaiban.
Visitors experienced an immersive virtual reality presentation simulating the operating room environment during the separation of conjoined twins. The display illustrated key surgical stages, including anesthesia, separation, reconstruction, and post-operative cosmetic procedures.
A touchscreen allowed guests to explore the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme’s website, featuring profiles of the medical team, a video library, and statistics showing the completion of 67 separation surgeries and the assessment of 152 cases from 28 countries across five continents.
Another screen displayed an English-language film showcasing the program’s achievements and the advanced medical care provided to conjoined children worldwide.
