Wadi Ayouj Transforms into Scenic Oasis Following Recent Heavy Rainfall
Wadi Ayouj, southwest of Rafha Governorate, recorded a significant rise in water flow after moderate to heavy rainfall in Northern Borders Region this week.
The rainfall created striking natural scenes, attracting residents and visitors. Flowing water widened the wadi and revived ancient watercourses across the surrounding landscape.
Wadi Ayouj Dam overflowed, measuring 365 meters in length, 4 meters in height, and with a storage capacity of 251,651 cubic meters. The increased flow improved the wadi’s course, with tributaries extending to Faydat Al-Ajramiyah.
The scenery and mild weather attracted picnickers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts. The rainfall also saturated the land and led to the flow of multiple streams across the region.
