Media Ministry's Konoz Initiative Launches '966+' Documentary Series
The Konoz Initiative, one of the Ministry of Media’s initiatives, has launched the documentary series “+966,” which discusses a range of topics that matter to citizens and are closely connected to their daily lives. The launch aligns with the initiative’s objectives of uncovering untold stories from within the Kingdom and presenting them as part of global human history.
The title refers to the Kingdom’s international dialing code, a national identifier that distinguishes Saudi Arabia from other countries and is easily recognizable. Each episode addresses a topic of interest to citizens linked to their identity and culture, such as social media, the history of singing in the Kingdom, the Arabic language, and other subjects that have become part of everyday public discourse.
Each topic is presented in its local and global historical context, supported by press, television, and film archives, and enhanced with engaging visual elements, including infographics and graphic design, to create expressive imagery and enrich the presentation of information.
Episodes of the series are currently broadcast on Saudi Channel, Cultural Channel, and SBC, as well as on the Shahid and STC TV platforms and on Saudia Airlines.
