Saudi Arabia Calls for Enhanced Global Cooperation to Tackle Humanitarian Challenges
The Kingdom reaffirmed the importance of strengthening international cooperation to address growing humanitarian challenges and narrow the gap between escalating needs and available resources.
This came during the participation of Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil in the 2026 Humanitarian Affairs Segment of the Economic and Social Council.
He noted that the Kingdom ranked second globally and first among Arab countries in humanitarian assistance in 2025, underscoring its continued leadership in supporting international humanitarian efforts and delivering aid to vulnerable and crisis-affected populations worldwide.
He further reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to supporting international efforts to alleviate human suffering and to enhance the resilience and recovery of affected communities, believing that humanitarian work is an investment in security, stability, and development for all.
