SFD Signs $50 Million Development Loan for Chad Cardiac Center Project

Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer Sultan Al-Marshad signed a development loan agreement valued at $50 million with Chadian Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning and International Cooperation Tahir Hamid Nguilin to finance the construction and equipping of a cardiac center at Al-Nahda Hospital in the Republic of Chad.

The project aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Chad by establishing a four-story cardiovascular center spanning 20,000 square meters with a capacity of 90 beds. It will enhance specialized care, reduce heart-related mortality rates, support the localization of cardiac surgeries, and contribute to the training of health students and medical personnel.

The agreement reflects SFD’s longstanding development engagement in Chad since 1976. SFD has financed six development projects and programs through concessional loans exceeding $131 million, supporting sustainable social and economic development.
