Saudi Arabia Participates in Second Meeting of the Palestine Donor Group in Brussels
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the Second Meeting of the Palestine Donor Group, held in Brussels.
The Kingdom was represented at the meeting by Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Manal Radwan.
Dr. Radwan emphasized that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip remains extremely critical nine months after the ceasefire, amid the continued Israeli military control over approximately 70 percent of the strip and Hamas’ control over the remainder, as well as the continued imposition of severe restrictions and the obstruction of humanitarian assistance, early recovery efforts, reconstruction, and the restoration of normal civilian life.
Dr. Radwan also highlighted the continued expansion of settlements, settler violence, and unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank, stressing that these developments confirm that what is unfolding is not merely a humanitarian crisis, but a political crisis requiring a political solution.
She welcomed the international community’s continued political support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and emphasized the importance of translating that support into tangible, sustainable financial commitments to ensure the agency’s continued provision of humanitarian, educational, and health services to millions of Palestinian refugees.
The Kingdom’s representative emphasized the importance of the Kingdom’s strategic partnership with the United States, stating that close cooperation between the two countries is essential to transforming the current situation into a comprehensive political settlement. She also underscored the importance of President Trump’s vision for ending the conflict in the Middle East through a comprehensive peace that guarantees security, prosperity, and regional integration.
At the conclusion of her remarks, she affirmed that the Kingdom will continue to stand by the Palestinian government politically, economically, and diplomatically, and to work with regional and international partners to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
