First Makkah Route Initiative Flight from Indonesia Arrives at Madinah Airport
The first flight carrying beneficiaries of the Makkah Route Initiative from the Republic of Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta arrived today at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah Region.
The initiative aims to provide high-quality services to pilgrims from beneficiary countries by receiving them and completing their procedures in their home countries with ease, starting from biometric data collection and electronic Hajj visa issuance, to completing passport procedures at the departure country's airport after verifying health requirements, coding and sorting baggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom, and transferring directly to buses to their accommodation in Makkah and Madinah via dedicated routes, with partner entities delivering their baggage.
The Ministry of Interior has been implementing the initiative since its launch in 2017. The initiative has served 1,254,994 pilgrims.
