Saudi Arabia's Roads, A Global Model
Since the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unification, its road network has undergone a remarkable transformation, becoming a global benchmark for connectivity.
The Kingdom's commitment to road development dates back to the era of the founder, King Abdulaziz. Recognizing the vital role of transportation in connecting communities and fostering economic growth, successive governments have invested significantly in expanding and modernizing the road network.
From its early days, when the road network was estimated at approximately 239 kilometers, Saudi Arabia has made remarkable strides. Today, according to the Roads General Authority, the country boasts a vast network of over 73,000 kilometers of roads. This achievement has solidified the Kingdom's position as a world leader in road connectivity, as confirmed by the Global Competitiveness Forum.
