Masam Project Removes 839 Mines from Various Areas of Yemen
Project Masam, implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to clear mines from Yemeni territory, removed 839 mines from various parts of Yemen during the first week of May, including 95 anti-tank mines, 12 anti-personnel mines, 721 items of unexploded ordnance, and 11 improvised explosive devices.
This brings the total number of mines removed since the launch of Project Masam to 558,855, after they were planted indiscriminately across Yemeni territory, threatening the lives of innocent children, women, and the elderly, and spreading fear among civilians.
Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues efforts to clear mines from Yemeni territory as part of a project aimed at enhancing civilian safety and enabling the brotherly Yemeni people to live in dignity and security.
