Saudi Games 2024 Torch Arrives in AlUla

The torch for the 3rd edition of the Saudi Games 2024 arrived today in AlUla as part of its promotional tour for the largest national sports event in the Kingdom. The event will be held in Riyadh from October 3 to October 17.
The Chief Sports Officer at the Royal Commission for AlUla, Ziad AlSuhaibani, received the torch from Lama Al-Fawzan, a silver medalist at the 2018 Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST) held in Sharjah, UAE, a bronze medalist at the 2020 AWST, and a bronze medalist at the 2020 Women's Arab Fencing Championship. Majed Alkhalifah, a karate champion who held the number one world ranking in 2016, then carried the torch.
The torch's visit included stops at AlUla's cultural and tourist sites. The tour began at the Al-Mughayra Heritage Sports Village, where the torch was carried by Taekwondo athlete Tarek Hamdi, who has a medal tally of five—three bronze, one gold, and one silver.
The torch relay continued with Judo athlete Issa Majrashi, who won three medals, including two silver and one bronze, and football player Adel Khalaf Al-Anzi of AlUla FC, who won the 3rd Division League with his team in 2018.
