Rahat's Valley: A Timeless Heritage Gem Northeast of Makkah

The village of Rahat, located northeast of Makkah, stands as one of the promising tourist destinations where the richness of history blends with the beauty of untouched nature. Towering mountains, lush palm trees, and flowing water come together to form a picturesque scene for enthusiasts of eco and heritage tourism.

Rahat's valley enjoys exceptional natural features, surrounded by the volcanic formations of Harrat Rahat, with its waters flowing through palm groves in a tranquil setting. A designated visitor pathway has also been developed to facilitate exploration and enjoyment of the scenic landscape.

Rahat lies about 130 kilometers from Makkah and is distinguished by its location amid diverse geological landmarks. It is also known for its fertile soil and dense vegetation cover, with more than 40,000 palm trees producing abundant quantities of high-quality dates.

Beyond its agricultural value, Rahat holds significant geological importance as it lies within the range of Harrat Rahat, one of the largest volcanic fields in the Kingdom, extending up to 300 kilometers.

These combined features highlight Rahat and its surrounding areas as an integrated tourism experience that blends deep-rooted history, natural beauty, and authentic heritage, making it one of the Kingdom’s hidden gems aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing domestic tourism and showcasing national treasures.
