IMCTC Launches Program to Protect Mauritanian Youth from Extremist Ideology
A four-day program titled "Training Academics and Educators to Protect Youth from Extremist Ideology" was launched today in Nouakchott, Mauritania, implemented by the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC).
Held from October 5 to 8, the program is part of IMCTC's initiatives for Sahel countries and its efforts in the intellectual field and building the capacities of specialists in member states.
The program aims to equip academics and educators with the knowledge and skills needed to protect youth from extremist ideology and promote values of tolerance. It also seeks to enhance participants' ability to identify early indicators and warning signs of extremist ideology in educational settings.
The course further addresses the development of effective communication skills with students and their families to promote critical thinking and build intellectual resilience. It also provides participants with the requirements for teacher qualification and addresses educators' roles in intervention and prevention to safeguard students from extremist ideology.
