Interior Ministry: Establishments Employing Illegal Workers Face Fines of Up to SAR100,000

Establishments that employ expatriates who violate regulations, allow their workers to work for themselves or for others, or employ workers sponsored by other employers face a fine of up to SAR100,000, the Ministry of Interior said on Monday.

Other penalties include a ban on recruiting new workers for up to five years, publication of the establishment's name, and up to one year in prison for the responsible manager, who will be deported if an expatriate. Fines are multiplied by the number of workers involved, the ministry said.

The ministry urged compliance with residency, labor, and border security regulations, and called on the public to report violators by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 in the rest of Saudi Arabia.
