Riyadh Region Mayor Meets World Water Council President

Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf met today in his office with President of the World Water Council Loïc Fauchon and his accompanying delegation.
 During the meeting, an overview was presented of the 11th World Water Forum, scheduled to be held in Riyadh in March 2027. The meeting also reviewed Riyadh’s experience in water resources governance in desert cities, which is based on flood risk management, expanding the use of treated wastewater for irrigation, and rehabilitating valleys as natural water infrastructure to enhance environmental resilience.
 The meeting further addressed initiatives related to urban afforestation and water-use efficiency, contributing to increasing per capita green spaces and improving quality of life. It also discussed areas of cooperation and the exchange of expertise in urban water management and sustainability.
