Saudi Vision 2030 Drives Expansion of Women’s Role Across Industrial Sectors
The designation of April 21 as International Day of Women in Industry, as one of the top outcomes of the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), underscores that women’s empowerment is no longer a temporary slogan, but a strategic choice through which the features of the global economy are being reshaped and more inclusive, innovative, and future-ready industrial systems are being built.
Saudi Vision 2030 leads the journey to empower women in industry, enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry, supporting innovation, and building a diversified and sustainable economy.
The lens of the Saudi Press Agency captured details of a day inside one of the pharmaceutical factories in Jeddah, where Saudi women work in precise environments that require the highest standards of quality and commitment, from pharmaceutical manufacturing to quality control, supply chains, development, and planning, reflecting the expanding scope of their presence within the industrial sector.
Women’s contribution is not limited to a single sector. However, it extends across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food, petrochemicals, technology, and manufacturing, as well as into industrial innovation and research and development.
Saudi women do not stop at the limits of achievement; they move forward to redefine their role in industry as a productive force, an innovative mind, and a partner in shaping the future.
