Ministry of Islamic Affairs Launches Third Holy Quran Memorization Competition in Sri Lanka

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance today launched the third edition of the Holy Quran Memorization Competition in Sri Lanka. The competition is organized in cooperation with the Sri Lankan Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs and comes as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to encourage Muslims to memorize and honor the Holy Quran.
 The competition attracted 2,600 contestants, with 200 qualifying for the final rounds. Participants are competing across eight categories, including four for men and four for women, ranging from memorizing the entire Holy Quran to memorizing ten and five parts. Evaluation is conducted according to precise judging criteria to ensure fairness and transparency.
 The program forms part of the ministry’s broader cooperation with official bodies in Sri Lanka to promote reverence for the Holy Quran, support those who memorize it, and consolidate the values of moderation and tolerance inherent in Islam.
 The competition has received widespread praise from the Muslim community in Sri Lanka, which has expressed appreciation for the ministry’s pioneering role in supporting Quran memorization and related initiatives.
