GASTAT: Real GDP Grows by 4.5% in 2025
Real gross domestic product (GDP) recorded an annual growth rate of 4.5% in 2025 compared to the previous year, while growth reached 4.9% in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
According to estimates released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), oil activities achieved the highest growth, rising by 10.4% in Q4 2025 and by 5.6% during 2025 compared to 2024.
Non-oil activities followed, growing by 4.1% in Q4 2025 and by 4.9% for the full year. Government activities, meanwhile, declined by 1.2% in Q4 2025, but recorded annual growth of 0.9% compared to the previous year.
The quarterly flash estimates of GDP represent a preliminary estimation of real GDP growth rates, prepared shortly after the end of the reference quarter, when data for that period remain incomplete. GASTAT is scheduled to release the final real GDP results for Q4 2025 in March 2026.
