SDRPY Hosts Capacity-Building Workshop for Yemeni Institutions
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) is hosting a three-day capacity-building workshop at its headquarters in Riyadh, as part of its ongoing efforts to support and strengthen Yemeni institutional capacities.
The workshop is organized in cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It includes 10 sessions aimed at transferring expertise in the fields of zakat and customs, as well as developing infrastructure at border crossings.
Participants include representatives from SDRPY, ZATCA, and the OECD, in addition to officials from Yemen’s Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Finance, and Yemeni tax and customs authorities.
The workshop comes within SDRPY’s continued efforts to support Yemen and enhance its institutional and technical capacities, while strengthening expertise in key financial and economic sectors. These efforts contribute to reinforcing a sustainable development ecosystem in Yemen.
SDRPY has adopted a range of projects and initiatives focused on strengthening institutional, technical, and community capacities. These initiatives aim to empower government institutions to identify needs, assess capabilities, perform core functions, adapt to evolving circumstances, and deliver services efficiently and effectively to the Yemeni people.
This workshop builds on SDRPY’s broader capacity-building efforts, including a comprehensive program launched in mid-2021 to strengthen the capabilities of Yemen’s ministries of planning and international cooperation and finance. It also follows a workshop held in November 2022 on developing Yemeni institutional capacities, which brought together eight international organizations and UN bodies.
