Saudi Arabia Participates in 29th Arab Communications, Information Ministers Meeting in Cairo
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated today in the 29th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information Technology, affiliated with the League of Arab States, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Saudi delegation was headed, on behalf of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, by Governor of the Digital Government Authority Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan. The delegation participated in meetings of the Arab Permanent Committee for Telecommunications and Information, the Executive Bureau, and the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council to follow up on the implementation of previous decisions and to take appropriate action on submitted recommendations.
During the meeting, Alsuwaiyan affirmed that the Kingdom’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting and strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the fields of communications, technology, and artificial intelligence. He pointed to the significant progress the Kingdom achieved in 2025 in the digital economy, as well as its leading positions in several related international indicators.
He also noted that the Kingdom’s welcome of the proposal to establish an Arab ministerial council for artificial intelligence reflects its keenness to unify Arab efforts and maximize the promising opportunities offered by this vital sector, thereby enhancing the region’s readiness for future requirements.
