Saudi Scouts Serve Worshippers at the Two Holy Mosques During Ramadan
Members of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association participating in public service camps during Ramadan 1447 AH continue to carry out their volunteer mission at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, reflecting the spirit of dedication and humanitarian values that highlight the Kingdom’s leadership in promoting a culture of peace and volunteerism.
In Makkah and Madinah, more than 750 scouts and scout leaders are taking part in a volunteer program running through the end of the holy month, serving Umrah performers and worshippers and supporting relevant authorities in assisting visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
The camps align with the “Messengers of Peace” global initiative, which is in harmony with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative focuses on developing innovative youth leadership, promoting peace education, and reinforcing values of sustainability and active citizenship, reflecting a positive image of Saudi youth in humanitarian work.
Participants’ duties include assisting the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security, supporting security patrols in the central areas of Makkah and Madinah, organizing visitor movement, and providing on-site guidance in cooperation with the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, contributing to smoother movement and improved services for visitors.
More than 400 participants are deployed in Makkah and over 350 in Madinah, working as one team and exemplifying the values of volunteerism and community service.
