WAMY Launches Seventh Surgical Medical Convoy in Tanzania to Perform 250 Operations

The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) launched its seventh medical convoy on Pemba Island in Tanzania as part of its humanitarian efforts to provide specialized healthcare services to vulnerable communities.

The convoy is expected to perform around 250 surgical operations across several medical specialties, including adult urology, pediatric urology, orthopedics, general surgery, and pediatric surgery, within an integrated medical program aimed at addressing part of the region’s healthcare needs.

The convoy, which will continue through December 27, includes more than 15 surgeons and five specialized anesthesiology consultants from Saudi Arabia, who are contributing their medical expertise to deliver treatment and surgical care to beneficiaries.

Head of the convoy, urology consultant at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah Dr. Ayman Al-Sulaimani, stated that the initiative helps address critical medical needs in the country, eases patients’ suffering, and provides access to specialized surgical services. He praised Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts in Africa through medical and relief initiatives that support healthcare systems and serve those in need worldwide.
