Juniper Forests Stand as Icon of Aseer Green Highlands

Juniper forests define the natural landscape of Aseer's highlands, stretching across the peaks and slopes of the Sarawat Mountains, where their evergreen trees create a scenic panorama blending mountains with clouds and mist, reflecting the richness of the region's mountain ecosystem and reinforcing Aseer's status as one of Saudi Arabia's leading nature tourism destinations.

 The forests are spread across several highland areas, most notably Al-Soudah, Al-Namas, Ballasmer, Billahmar, Tanomah, Al-Fara'a and Dalgan parks, and numerous mountain peaks and parks along the Sarawat range. Together, they form a permanent green cover that gives the highlands their distinctive environmental character.

 The Saudi Press Agency captured aerial footage highlighting the vast expanse of the juniper forests covering extensive mountain peaks and slopes and lining roads and panoramic viewpoints. Clouds enveloped the treetops and rocky formations, showcasing the remarkable natural features and environmental diversity of Aseer's highlands.
