Moon, Mars, Pollux Align in Stunning Astronomical Display over Northern Borders Region
Northern Borders Region witnessed a remarkable astronomical phenomenon yesterday, with the conjunction of the Moon, Pollux star, and Mars visible to the naked eye on the eastern horizon throughout the night until moonset.
Astronomy and Space Club President Zahi Al-Khlaiwi stated that this event is a captivating phenomenon for astronomy enthusiasts and skywatchers. He noted that the Moon was in its waxing gibbous phase, making it brighter and easier to observe, especially alongside Pollux, one of the most prominent stars in the Gemini constellation.
He highlighted that Mars appeared as a red dot to the left of the moon, while Pollux shone to its right, creating a celestial alignment of three bright bodies and providing an ideal opportunity for observation and photography, particularly in areas free from light pollution.
