Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship Sees Close Competition in Second Round
The second round of the 2026 Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship got underway yesterday at Al-Muhammadiyah Hill in Al-Shafa, Taif Governorate, featuring official practice sessions and the opening race. The event is held under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and Bakhshab Motorsports, in partnership with Jameel Motorsport.
The round attracted 54 male and female competitors, 46 of whom completed technical inspections ahead of competition across 10 categories, in addition to the Women's Cup.
The opening day's program included administrative and technical checks, followed by a drivers' briefing on competition regulations. Official practice sessions then took place at Al-Muhammadiyah Hill, producing closely matched times among the leading competitors.
Faisal Sufyan Al-Qabbani recorded the fastest time of 1 minute and 47.832 seconds, followed by Rabee Al-Awar with 1 minute and 48.544 seconds, while Mahmoud Ahmed Abed placed third with 1 minute and 51.907 seconds.
The opening race was held Friday evening, with competition set to resume Saturday morning with the second race, followed by the third and fourth decisive races. Final standings will be determined based on each competitor's best time from the two decisive races, before the winners in the various categories are honored at the awards ceremony.
