GEOSA Represents Saudi Arabia as Main Sponsor of International Conference ‘Geospatial Week 2025’

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA), is participating as a main sponsor of the Geospatial Week (GSW) 2025 conference, organized by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre. The event is scheduled to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from April 7 to 11.

According to a press release issued by the GEOSA, the conference aims to promote communication and cooperation among researchers and experts from around the world through the exchange of experiences and the latest developments, and by hosting sessions and workshops related to aerial imaging and remote sensing activities. This provides valuable opportunities to support constructive international engagement and enhance geospatial awareness.

GEOSA's participation as a main sponsor of the conference stems from its ongoing efforts to promote knowledge exchange and share international geospatial insights, based on its membership in the ISPRS, in addition to President of GEOSA Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel serving as the regional representative of the Arab States in the Society.

The release added that GEOSA will participate in a keynote panel titled “The Role of GEOSA as an Engine for Growth, Governance, Innovation, and Capacity Building for the Geospatial Sector in Saudi Arabia” and will chair two sessions dedicated to presenting Arab scientific papers. It will also participate in a panel session titled “Artificial Intelligence Horizons: How Will Machine Learning Redefine the Boundaries of Earth Observation?”

As part of its continuous efforts to build and develop national capacities, GEOSA is supporting the participation of a group of academics and students from Saudi universities and institutes in various conference sessions, seminars, and activities.

GEOSA is also participating with a dedicated pavilion in the exhibition accompanying the conference, where it showcases the Kingdom’s experience in building and developing national geospatial infrastructure and promoting the role of geospatial information in supporting development sectors and informed decision-making.

In accordance with its organizational mandate, GEOSA regulates the surveying, geospatial information, and imaging sector in the Kingdom, including coordination and cooperation with counterpart entities in other countries and international bodies, and represents the Kingdom nationally and internationally on matters within its jurisdiction.
