Saudi Red Crescent Conducts First Medical Evacuation from New Helipad at Grand Mosque
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has successfully conducted the first air medical evacuation from the Grand Mosque via the newly established ambulance helipad at the Third Saudi Expansion area. The initiative marks a significant advancement in the emergency medical services available to visitors of the holy site.
The urgent mission commenced after Al Haram Emergency Hospital admitted a patient who had suffered a heart attack. Following initial medical treatment, the patient was quickly airlifted to King Abdullah Medical City for further care, in line with the highest medical standards for critical cases.
The air evacuation capability enhances emergency response time within the Grand Mosque, as the ambulance helipads facilitate the immediate transfer of critical cases to referral hospitals, thereby contributing to life-saving efforts and ensuring timely access to advanced healthcare.
These efforts reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing the healthcare infrastructure within the Grand Mosque, guaranteeing the highest levels of medical care for visitors, especially during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, which attract a considerable influx of pilgrims.
